There are many stories going around about hemorrhoids. Piles Stories can range from involving hemorrhoids symptoms to what causes hemroids all the way through to natural cures and treatments for hemorrhoids. We\’re going to see where the truth lies.
Myth # 1 – Hemorrhoids can lead to cancer
Believing this myth is enough to strike fear in any hemorrhoid sufferers heart! But not to worry because it is just that- a myth. Let us distinguish between hemorrhoids and cancer. Hemorrhoids are rectal veins that have become enlarged and inflamed. On the other hand, cancer is brought on by veins that have divided and become unruly (in other words, they have gotten out of control).
There is no way that hemroids can lead to cancer or the development of cancer, and neither do they cause colorectal cancer. Occasionally, an individual who already has colorectal cancer can be more likely to get piles because of the pressure that the tumour places onto the rectal veins.
Myth # 2 – Hemroids are an elderly persons health issue
This is one of the most common fallacies about hemorrhoids. This health condition may occur more often in those of an advancing age but it is not only an older persons problem. It can be a problem for anyone at any age.
Hemorrhoids are caused when weak veins become swollen and enlarged due to blood clots. It is true that as you get older you the walls of the veins become weaker which does make it more likely that you\’ll get them, and because of this people think that Hemorrhoids are just for old people.
You should know though that many things can lead to Hemroids including poor diet (not enough fibber or water) and a sedentary lifestyle. The office environment doesn\’t help, as long periods of sitting or inactivity have been positively linked to Piles.
Myth #3: Gay Sex (anal intercourse) can cause Hemorrhoids
This is a very widely held misconception that anal intercourse can lead to piles. It\’s simply not true, although anal sex can cause a flare up and irritate haemorrhoids that you may already have!
Myth # 4 – There is no hemorrhoid treatment that works
hemorrhoids suck, and you do not have to live with them. There are many things that you can do to relieve your hemroids, and there are many ways to relieve the swelling and itching that hemroids cause. Sitz baths can be very helpful as is including moor fibber in your diet. IF you have really bad hemorrhoids then surgery can be a good option (and the author has had surgery done successfully – I\’m not going to pretend that it didn\’t hurt.. but it worked! – email for details.)
